New Mitsubishi Triton – Tough, Rugged And Refined

The Mitsubishi Triton Pickup is more than a simple Double Cab Bakkie, it is a vehicle that offers outstanding on and off-road performance while not skimping on comfort, safety and utility. From a design perspective it has a more sportier look than ever before and would not look out of place surround by SUV’s and other luxury vehicles. Its interior space has been upgraded and made larger, which makes this the perfect work vehicle during the week and family vehicle over the weekends. In fact, it has strong SUV-like sensibilities (both in handling and interior and exterior design), but not once will you doubt the Triton double cabs workhorse background thanks to its hardcore approach to handling any payload and legendary 3,500kg braked towing capacity.

Thanks to the impressive MIVEC DOHC Intercooled Turbo Diesel engine found in the in all Triton model variants, the entire range provides a quiet cabin experience that that translates into a more relaxed drive and lessons driver fatigue. The steering is also more responsive than all previous generations, which has resulted in a best-in-class turning radius which enables the Mitsubishi Triton to get out of even the tightest spots.

The all-new Mitsubishi Triton takes things to the next level with its bold “Beast Mode” design, featuring a completely redesigned chassis, top-tier safety features, and cutting-edge technology. In addition to the GL and GLS derivatives, the Triton will also offer 3 special edition Triton models namely Athlete, Edition 46 and Xtreme. All of this means that driving a new Mitsubishi Triton double cab is now even more exhilarating than ever before, which is why you need to book a test drive today and experience the boldness that is a Mitsubishi Triton all for yourself.

For Starters it is Versatile

This is not just a simple bakkie, it is an amalgamation what many people would have in their driving characteristics wishlist all rolled into one very fine vehicle. The first thing you’ll notice while driving (or even being a passenger in) a Triton Pickup is that is is very SUV like in the way it handles. It is an easy drive, with great road handling and safety features that make it one of the best bakkie buys in the business. Additionally, its comfort features make it great for family outings and the space in the Double Cab cabin is more than enough for the average sized South African family. All of these comfort and convenience features however do not detract from the fact that ultimately this a hard working pickup whose primary task has always been to work hard even if it is an easy vehicle to handle (and a pleasure to drive).

Its 1,545 mm wide, 1,555mm long double cab load bed at the rear and the single cab’s 1,580 mm wide and 2,340 mm long load bed provide a cargo space, which is more than ample for almost any task you’ll ask of it. It also has inner hooks and a rear gate as standard, which adds to the versatility factor no matter what type of load you’re carrying. The cargo space also has extra reinforcing, which makes it exceptionally durable, and when you add the impressive torque and power provided by the new Triton’s 2.4 litre MIVEC DOHC Intercooled Turbo Diesel Engine to the equation, you’ve got a top-performing work bakkie that up to any task.

Then There’s the Fact That it’s Very, Very Safe

No matter if you’re transporting your workforce or travelling with the family we’ve found that the Mitsubishi Triton is one VERY safe vehicle. Safety features include Mitsubishi’s unique Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) Body Construction, 7 Airbags, Side-impact Protection Bars, ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors at the rear of the cabin and additional active and passive safety features such as ASTC, ABS, EBD, BAS and HSA. Added to this are the Triton’s Daytime Running Lights a Rear View Camera and Speed-sensing Auto Door Locking, which round off the incredible safety features that come standard across the Triton Range. Even better, the new 2024 4×4 Triton variants are fitted with a wide variety of meaningful safety features including the Super Select II system with Active Yaw Control that guarantees exceptional traction, stability, and handling across all types of terrain.

So Should You Get One?

If you want to own a quality Pickup that is just as much at home on the road as it is off it then this is your type of vehicle! It plays as hard as it works, and gets the balance just right between what is fun for the family and what works well for work. We strongly urge you to at least test drive a Triton for yourself, as we’re convinced that if your mind has not already been made up to buy one, then getting behind the wheel of one will be that final bit of convincing you need.
